Loop de Loop Animation Festival

Animated loops for a bimonthly animation festival in response to a one-word theme.

Loop de Loop is a bimonthly, global animation challenge that invites animators to create work around a particular theme.

These are a series of animated loops/gifs I have created over the years. Even though I sometimes include a literal representation of the theme in the work, I challenge myself to interpret the theme in a slightly different way. At the end of the animation challenge, submitted works are curated and presented at screenings around the world. Previous screenings have taken place in Berlin, Tel Aviv, New York, Melbourne and Sydney.

This loop was created around the theme of “pig.” The main quality that sticks out to me when I think of a pig is “cute,” so I adapted a style that was whimsical and childlike.
This loop was created around the theme of “Window.” I tried to imagine what I might see if I was looking out of a window of a deep sea submersible.
This loop was created around the theme of “Window.” I imagined the view from a space vessel, orbiting Earth.
